Gary Bruce

Director

I began my career by serving my apprenticeship with Perth-based James Scott Ltd (Amec Group), where I developed a strong foundation in the electrical trade. In 1993, at just 20 years old, I founded GBEC. In the early days, I wore many hats - estimator, electrician, and bookkeeper - but today I’m fortunate to lead a fantastic team who share the responsibilities. As Director, my role now focuses on daily management meetings, maintaining client relationships, and leading on estimating and project design.

Claire Barber

Director

I joined GBEC in 2010 to assist with payroll and some key admin duties during my maternity leave and made the bold step to leave full time employment in 2011 to work part time while studying for my Masters Degree in Coaching. In August 2013, Gary and I set up our limited company with us both as Directors at the helm to drive the company forward. The key to our success has been the skills, knowledge and experience that each and every one of our team brings. My key roles include HR, financial management and compliance.

Graeme Swan

Contracts Manager/ Estimator

I joined GBEC Scotland Ltd in 2013 as a fully qualified electrician with technical knowledge and practical approach. In 2016, I progressed to the role of Contract Manager, where I now oversee the planning and maintenance of projects for our larger clients. I also play a key role in mentoring and supporting our electricians, helping to ensure high standards are consistently met across all work. I am a core part of GBEC’s operations and have a steady hand in keeping projects running smoothly and efficiently.

Tracy Wilkinson

Office/ Procurement Manager

I began my career in 2000 with electrical wholesaler Rexel Senate in Cumbria, working primarily in procurement and material supply for the Sellafield nuclear site. After relocating to Scotland, I continued in the electrical wholesale industry with Rexel UK. I joined GBEC Scotland Ltd as Office and Procurement Manager, where I continue to play a key role in the day-to-day running of the business. I am the buyer for operational materials and services for GBEC, ensuring we maintain high quality while keeping costs competitive. I’m also the first point of contact on the phone and am always happy to assist with enquiries - helping to ensure smooth communication and excellent customer service.

Jamie Sheldrick

Project Manager/ Estimator

I joined GBEC in 2008 as an electrical apprentice, successfully completing my FICA and becoming a fully qualified electrician in 2012. Since then, I have played a key role within the team - not only delivering high-quality electrical work but also mentoring our apprentices. I bring a wealth of experience, technical expertise, and strong client relationships to my role.
